Free n Ez Day 6, Zhuhai-Macau

Day 6 of our trip:

Date : 3 July 2009

Participants : Celine and Nathalie
Duration : 7 days

Accommodation : 富豪宾馆

Expenses : MOP 413

Rainy day...We woke up early today and had our breakfast at Hugo. We need to go Macao later. Carrying our backpacks, our handbags and our luggage and off~

Breakfast (RMB31/ pax)...

The fortune teller...

After half an hour, we arrived at Macao boundary control point. You can see shuttle bus everywhere. As we are looking for Auguster Lodge, we need to take shuttle bus to Grand Lisboa. Luckily, there were 2 vacant seats in bus. I was sitting in front, near the driver while Nat at behind. We saw a terrible accident on the way heading to town. It caused traffic jam as the road is quite narrow at Macao. The driver kept mumbling...

Accident...

A moment later. We arrived at Grand Lisboa. We were shock that the security guard at the main door and the bellboy there don't understand the question we've asked either in Cantonese or English. Our level is not that bad, I think.
Just a simple question :"May I know where is Auguster Lodge with this address?"

I'm wondering if we have speaking problem or they have listening problem. *forced smile*
Well, we gotta find ourselve. This is the headache part for backpakers especially those who don't own credit card. I knew that Nat was impatient and reluctantly to walk. So I asked her to have a sit and look after our bags.

Immigration, come here...

Luckily, i got info from tourist centre and the guy indicated the way there. Phew~ Apparently, I don't have speaking problem.
We faced another problem, there is no lift to 3rd floor, we need to walk up stairs to the lodge. Well, again, I suggested to go up myself and take a look at the lodge first....

OMG~That was terrible, nobody open the door for me. In addition, the environment was EEEEaaakkk... I tried another guesthouse opposite Auguster, an old maid opened the door for me. I really can't stand for the bad smell and she offered me MOP290 for single bed room. Oh la la~

This is the terrible thing, we don't have any idea where to live. Nat asked a pharmacist is there any budget hotel near this area, his finger pointed somewhere. We were tired enough to walk again, so just take a taxi and ask the driver. He drove us to Shaleitou (沙梨头). Then we lodge at Fuhou Pankun (富豪宾馆) (MOP360/ night).

The owner used to stay in Malaysia few years ago. We don't have key to open the door, he keeps it and will open the room door for us when we wana enter it. The most important thing is to rest a while and put our heavy bags inside. The room is better than the previous I saw. Phew~

After asking the way to town. We were aware that there is utterly far from town. Need to walk up to half an hour to get there. We were not familiar with the area and were not dare to take bus. So we just walked there.

I love this scene much much much...

Our journey begun. We went Yishun (义顺) at Largo do Senado to taste the famed stew milk (义顺炖双皮奶) (MOP16). I love the feeling when it melts in my mouth, indeed. It was so smooth. Try it whenever you go Macao.

St. Dominic's Church...

We went Sasa after that. Nat is a shopaholic. She can stay there for couple of hour. I really not enjoy that much. Rather walk along and take photos. The fact is, I couldn't. I'm afraid her face will turn black as we don't have contact number to contact each other. *sigh* Boring~

While on our way to the Ruins of St. Paul's, rain fell suddenly. It stopped for a minute later and then continue raining. Luckily it was only some drops, we still can take photos.

Ruins of St. Paul's...

Me, smile reluctanly because of the weather and the trip...

Largo da Companhia de Jesus, with my striking orange umbrella...

Souvenir shops everywhere...

We tried the famous pork burger (猪扒包) somewhere near souvenir shops. It was not very special but I still can accept it. Nat was not satisfy with it...

This is the terrible day. Nat wanted to go toilet but we failed to find it. After rain stopped, I told her I want to go Mount Fortress located beside St. Paul's and she also can go toilet. She followed, but shown her bitter face. I was so down looking that. So, we walked separately.

Me, myself paddled along the ancient route up to the hill and take scenic photos, breath the fresh air after rain, visiting the exhibition hall etc.

Merely see Ruins of St. Paul's...

Museum of Macao...

Grand Lisboa...

At 6pm, she asked me to go as the museum is closing. OK, fine~
We bougth some biscuits and Portugeuse tarts (MOP6/ piece) as our breakfast for tomorrow.

Portugeuse tarts, Malaysia's better...

We walked to Grand Lisboa to visit the casino. Nat gambled. No win, no lose. We registered as member, it's free. We were shock that the three receptionists are Malaysian. How small the world is. Later on, we took shuttle bus to Sands casino. We used to go Tamshi Fisherman's Wharf, but once we wana cross the road, rain started to fall. This time is more heavier with strong wind. So what we can do is to go casino, again. Nat gambled again.

Day 5 of our trip:

Date : 2 July 2009

Participants : Celine and Nathalie
Duration : 7 days

Accommodation : 岐关大酒店

Expenses : RMB428.50

This is also a free n ez day for us. We can't resist the delicious food and again, we took our breakfast (RMB23) at Mingxing restaurant. This day, we went to the beach, shopping centers, statue of fisher girl (珠海渔女) and foot massage as well.

Morning, Zhuhai...

Chee Cheong Fun (猪肠粉)...

Char siu pao (蜜汁叉烧包)...

Crab dim sum (鲜蟹饺)...

Special dim sum (燕麦汤圆)...

With salted egg inside *drooling*...

Our first stop is to the statue of fisher girl. We reached there by bus (RMB1.50)/ (RMB2.50 for air-cond), the fare is standardized once you get in the bus. The signboard there is clear enough to indicate which stop you are and where is the next stop. You won't get lost, don't worry! The bus dropped us at Haibin Gongyuan (海滨公园), we need to walk through the park for 5 minutes to reach the statue.

The public transport to reach destination...

The next destination is go backward to the beach (海滨泳场), also, by bus. We gave up our swim suit the morning before leaving because we were lazy enough to change it. As a result, we only had a natural 'hot sand therapy' and 'cooling spa' on the beach.

Again, my favorite ice-cream while waiting for bus...

After going beach, we returned to Gongbei and shopped there. This time, we saw cheap clothes on sale. Yay! I totally bought 6 blouses, including formal wear, wow! They only cost me RMB154, not that expensive, right? After that, we had our lunch and went saloon for hair cut. Can't believe we only need to pay RMB35 for cut+wash+blow. ~Oh la la~ I cut my hair short, feel light now.

Taiwanese oyster mee sua (台湾蚝仔面线)(RMB12)...

Teochew Lo Peng (潮州卤饭)(RMB10)...

Mango snowy (芒果绵绵冰)(RMB12)...

Honeydew milk (蜜瓜牛奶) (RMB8) ...

My new hair style, thinking I need to do rebonding...

We decided to go foot massage due to the fatigue. We went Tai Shang Huang (泰上皇) next to the hotel. It only costs us RMB38 for 75 minutes, I love it very much as you can also get a free fruit drink, satisfying service, cheap price and personal LCD screen to watch TV programme while massaging. I bet you can't get this price in Malaysia, am I right?

We had a delicious dinner (RMB44.50) after foot massage at Hugo restaurant beside hotel. I ordered black pepper pork chop while Nat ordered mix chop. After tasting the meal, we decided to go there for breakfast the next day.

The romantic environment...

The light was dim so I couldn't take a clear photos of the food. What I want to say is, Zhuhai is really a great place where you can enjoy delicious food with a reasonable price, indeed!
